Grand Meander and Tuba Christmas, Presented by the
Chamber of Commerce
One of the most beautiful times of year
in Spencer is winter, and Spencer Mainstreet
celebrates the holiday season by silhouetting the
downtown buildings in white lights.
The first Monday night in December is always
“Grand Meander”, where thousands of residents
meander on Grand, warming their hands on hot
chocolate handed out by business owners and
listening to Christmas carols performed by local
churches and other community groups in living
windows. A
favorite tradition is humming along with the “Tuba
Christmas” players, a group of talented local
musicians who perform crowd-pleasing favorites on
their brass instruments.
